Volunteer

If you have a student in a West Potomac band, you are automatically a member of the West Potomac Band Patrons Organization (WPBPO).  All members are asked to volunteer to help out with at least some of the many activities that the WPBPO is involved in throughout the year.   In fact, the band program runs much more smoothly with lots of parent involvement, and those who get involved have a lot of fun getting to know the kids and other band parents.

The WPBPO volunteer opportunities offer something for everyone!  For example – The concession stand income is an enormous part of the budget benefiting your child.  Each family is expected to work three shifts at the concession stand during the Varsity and JV football season as well as help out in at least one other volunteer opportunity area.  Help with uniforms is needed all year – for marching band and for concert bands.  Chaperones are needed to accompany the marching band to away games and competitions, and the concert bands to selected events.

Please feel free to contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Joscelyn Silsby at Volunteers@WolverineBand.com, with any general questions about volunteer opportunities.  You can also contact the individual coordinators for questions about specific volunteer opportunities.  Their names and contact information are listed below:
